1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how BrainBattle, a product of KodeGuy (Pty) Ltd (“KodeGuy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use BrainBattle’s website and application. BrainBattle turns your own study material into adaptive quizzes, podcasts, and cartoon lessons.
This policy applies to all BrainBattle account types: Student, Adult Learner, Teacher, and Parent/Child. Where a section applies to only some account types, that is stated explicitly.
2. Account Types We Offer

No individual under 18 may create a self-managed account, including via a teacher’s class invitation link. See our COPPA Compliance Statement for full detail on how younger learners are protected.
3. What Data We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, account type, and country/region
- Child profile information (Parent/Child accounts only): a child’s first name, age or grade level, and learning progress — provided and managed by the parent or guardian
- Uploaded study material: PDF documents you upload to generate quizzes, podcasts, or cartoon lessons
- AI-generated content: the quizzes, podcasts, and cartoon lessons BrainBattle creates from your uploaded material
- Learning progress data: quiz scores, completion rates, and activity history
- Battle Squad / class data (Teacher accounts): class rosters created through the invitation system
- Subscription status: your current plan and billing status — we do not store your card details directly (see Section 5)
- Technical data: IP address and standard server logs, captured automatically by our hosting infrastructure
4. How We Use Your Data
- To generate the quizzes, podcasts, and cartoon lessons you request from your uploaded material
- To operate Parent/Child profiles, Teacher Battle Squads, and account management features
- To track learning progress and display it back to you or, for Parent/Child accounts, to the managing parent
- To process subscription billing
- To maintain platform security and respond to support requests
We do not sell personal data. We do not use uploaded study material or AI-generated content to train models for any purpose beyond generating your own content.

Each processor is contractually permitted to use your information solely to provide its service to KodeGuy, and not for its own purposes.
6. Cookies & Tracking
BrainBattle uses cookies essential to account login and core functionality. We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views. This analytics tool is cookieless and collects no personally identifiable information. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records for longer (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: delete your account and associated data at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us
- Portability: on request, we will provide a copy of the personal data you or your parent/guardian directly provided to us in a portable format within 30 days. This right covers data you provided directly — it does not extend to AI-generated content such as quizzes, podcasts, or cartoon lessons
- Objection: object to certain processing of your data

9. Children’s Privacy
BrainBattle’s self-managed account types (Student, Adult Learner, Teacher) require the account holder to confirm they are 18 years of age or older. No individual under 18 may create a self-managed account. Learners under 18 are added to BrainBattle only through a Parent/Child profile, created by a parent or legal guardian who confirms both their own age and their relationship to that specific child at the time each profile is created.

10. International Data Transfers
BrainBattle is a global product, and the processors listed in Section 5 operate in the United States and European Union. Where your data is transferred internationally, we take appropriate steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this policy.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
